116 steps down at Madame Pommery's in Reims, France
I read a number of books that had to do with tunnels, but it was fascinating to actually walk down the 116 steps that led to the Chalk tunnels of Madame Pommery who invited Brut Champagne in 1874. The tunnels not only house champagne of various sorts, but also a lot of artwork. After the tour of the tunnels, we enjoyed a champagne tasting in the upstairs room, which included Brut and a Rose, both of which this champagne house is noted for.
