Today I was mainly exploring my 50mm lens. I have to admit that my first few shots were disappointing. I had a certain vision of what I wanted to capture and I just couldn't find it. I traveled a few more miles in my car and found Doty Island in wonderful Menasha, Wisconsin.

It's August so traditional the waterways are full of green algae. The light was diffused and I wanted to capture a shot of the bridges and the surrounding green. When you think of water, you don't think of green. But in August, the algae bloom gets to an intense green.
